Limitation
of Existing Technology
There is increasing demand
worldwide for thin glasses in technically more and more demanding shapes and
thicknesses (e.g. as cover glasses for the automotive and consumer electronics
markets). Equipment currently used for the production of such 3D formed glasses
is reaching its process-related limits.
•Limited
form accuracy
•Limited
shape complexity
•Long
process times, often manual post processing (polishing) necessary
•Occupation
of many forming tools
•Lack
of scalability
ARC’s solutions for the glass industry
ARC’s innovative solutions are
based on German High Technology from Vitrum Technologies - a
spin-off company of the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, it
can address a wide portfolio of manufacturing processes for thin glass
processing.
•  Our 4
in 1 system technology offers extensive possibilities to design an individual
system for you and your products. The four technologies include, in particular,
the hot forming processes:
•  Gravity slumping
•  Vacuum-assisted slumping
•  Deep drawing
•  Press bending
The
special feature is the use of a non-isothermal process control in which the
glass can be heated in parallel and independently of the molding tools. This
allows cycle times and the required number of molds to be significantly
reduced. The result is cost-effective and fast manufacturing processes for mass
production.
•  Automatic loading/unloading
•  Process validation
•  Machine and plant engineering
•  Industry 4.0 Integration
